I made a post about my scale model collection a long time ago (since deleted) when I didn’t have as much knowledge about diecasts in general and before I really started collecting 1/64 scale models, so I decided to make a revamped post about the current state of my collection, more specifically my 1/64 collection.
Although I have been collecting for a long time, most of my licensed diecasts were 1/36s and it is only since the last few years that 1/64 (aka mini scale). The two main reasons that I started collecting this scale is one, it’s affordable and two, it’s very easy to store and keep in a protected place. Also, some of the cars look nicely detailed, though that can depend on the brand and casting.
Moving on, let’s get to some of my top cars. The white race car in the front is my Pop Race Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 Macau Guia, this is one I’m happy to have because licensed JDM cars are very difficult to find. To its left are the #4 Pratt Miller Motorsports Corvette Z06 GT3.R by MINI GT and Koenigsegg Gemera by Tarmac which I both got from a diecast convention that I attended very recently.
My other JDM car currently is the R35 GTR #10 Slam Dunk Edition on the left of the back row and that one is also special because it’s themed after an anime (Slam Dunk) and you don’t find cars like that often, this car and the blue McLaren Elva in the back row I both got from Dubai. Also from Dubai is my HW Premium Pagani Zonda R in silver, probably one of my favorite cars in the collection. The rest of the cars are from a variety of standard brands (HW, Majorette etc.).
I like to collect all kinds of cars as you can see here, my collection has everything from old vintages to hypercars. I also have a couple of race cars and this is a section I have plans to expand in the future.
There has been a huge rise in 1/64 die cast collecting recently and with the variety of makers and cars already out there and new releases that keep coming, it looks like that trend will continue.
