Many celebrities have bought the Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 SUV, but American rapper Tyga once wrapped his car purple and it’s a bold choice I must say.
Although Mercedes offers plenty of single and dual tone paint options for the Maybach GLS, purple as a paint option would only be possible via special order through the MANUFAKTUR customization program and to my knowledge no one has done that with the Maybach GLS, so Tyga’s wrap is one of only times we have seen what the Maybach GLS looks like in purple.
The wrap, which was done by RDB LA auto shop, is simple. A full metallic purple exterior and gloss black wheels with no other changes. Another interesting thing is this wasn’t the first time Tyga wrapped his Maybach GLS as he previously had a satin silver wrap done for his car a few months before, also by RDB LA as well.
Now this was all a few years ago when the Maybach GLS 600 was rather new and it’s unknown if Tyga even still has it considering he seems to make changes to his car collection quite often, having also owned more expensive luxury and supercars including a Bugatti Veyron, Rolls Royce Dawn and a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster. He also clearly has a fondness for purple on his cars as his Aventador Roadster was also wrapped in a similar color except in a matte finish and his Dawn had purple interiors.
Assuming Tyga’s Maybach GLS has changed ownership, it’s most likely back to its original factory color of dark blue.
When it comes to wrapping or customizing Mercedes SUVs most people go for the G Wagon, but for those who prefer pure luxury over off road capabilities, the Maybach GLS is generally the car of choice here so it’s not a surprise that you have some of these wrapped as well.
Although purple wouldn’t be my first color choice personally on a wrap for the Maybach GLS, it’s certainly a unique and bold choice and Tyga sure made his car stand out by doing it.
