This Might Be My Favorite Ferrari Daytona SP3 Spec

a Ferrari Daytona SP3 in Rosso Magma

The Daytona SP3 is one of the most impressive cars Ferrari have made in modern times, being a part of Ferrari’s Icona series. 599 units of these were produced but I think out of all of them, this example here just might be my favorite one.

Possibly the main reason that I like this car so much is the exterior shade of Rosso Magma, a deep red triple layer paint which depending on the light and angle can look anywhere from bright to dark (in this case with the interior lighting the color looks a bit darker). It is a newer shade which goes back to the 488 Pista and remains one of the more exclusive Ferrari red shades around.

I will say Rosso Magma is one of my absolute favorite shades to see on a Ferrari and although the shade looks great on most Ferrari models that I have seen with it, I think it looks even more beautiful on the Daytona SP3. Whoever commissioned this Daytona SP3 picked what I would consider pretty much a perfect spec for it, the only change that I would probably make is to replace the standard silver wheel rims with darker rims (like those provided by Novitec x Vossen) because that way the rims would not take attention away from the deep red metallic paint and make it stand out even more.

Although I’m not sure where this specific Rosso Magma example currently is, there is a similar example with a Blu Elettrico Alcantara interior and similar wheel rims that recently came in the spotlight as it was featured in an auction during the Villa D’Este Concorso event at Lake Como, where it would sell for over $7 million.

While the total number of Daytona SP3s that were made in Rosso Magma is unknown, there have been several examples spotted in different places like Switzerland, Monaco and the UK which is really nice to see because it shows there were quite a few owners out there willing to pick this shade over the more popular reds like Rosso Corsa or Rosso Scuderia for their car even if it would have been a more expensive option.

There are many great specs out there on the Daytona SP3 that I have come across and seen images of, but personally I think it is going to be pretty difficult to beat this Rosso Magma beauty.
