Porsche has unveiled a new model in the 911 lineup called the 911 GT3 S/C (Sport Cabriolet) and it’s significant because while the GT3 is an iconic model that’s been around for generations, this is the first time that Porsche has made a proper convertible version for the GT3.

Those who love the experience of driving a stick shift are going to be happy to know that the GT3 S/C comes exclusively with Porsche’s six-speed GT manual transmission. Yup, you won’t be seeing the Porsche PDK transmission in this car. To enhance the driving experience even further, there is a naturally aspirated 4.0 flat six engine underneath the hood that gives plenty of raw power.

The GT3 S/C’s purpose is to combine the fun driving experience of a convertible with the pure track performance of the GT3. It takes inspiration from earlier 911 models with lightweight components from the 992 S/T and overall design and style being inspired by the earlier 991 Speedster. Despite the heavy fully automatic system that powers the roof, the lightweight components used help balance things out and save weight.

Unlike the 992 S/T or 991 Speedster however, the GT3 S/C isn’t a limited edition by production. Still, even though it isn’t a limited edition it’s not exactly going to be easy to get your hands on one of these considering the MSRP starts at $275,000.

I really like the choice of spec Porsche have gone with for the launch car. Guards Red with gold painted magnesium wheel rims is a classic spec that stands out, it represents both performance and style, which is exactly what the GT3 S/C is about.

The beauty of the Porsche 911 GT3 S/C is that it doesn’t matter if you take it on the open highways with the top down or send it at full speed on the racetrack, the raw performance the GT3 S/C will provide is one that enthusiasts can always look forward do when they decide to take it out for a drive.

The GT3 S/C is currently available to order and deliveries are expected to begin in the fall of 2026.
