Porsche have revealed a new and improved (aka 992.2) facelift of the Turbo S variant of their 911 sports car and I must say it is quite a beast. The new 2026 911 Turbo S is powered by a 701hp hybrid twin turbo engine with a 60 hp increase from the engine of the previous 2020 model.
The Porsche 911 Turbo S is known for impressive acceleration and Porsche claims that the new 2026 model can launch from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds. Assuming that is the case, that puts it at similar 0 to 100 acceleration statistics as more powerful hybrid supercars like the 1000hp Lamborghini Revuelto which is really something.
During testing, the 2026 Turbo S also posted a lap time around 14 seconds faster than the earlier model on the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, despite the newer model being 85 kgs heavier as a result of the addition of the T-Hybrid system. One also needs to remember that the Turbo S model isn’t really meant for track usage, its greatest strength is straight line speed which would be best to experience on highways and open roads. If this is what the 2026 Turbo S can do on the track, you can bet it is going to be even better on the roads where you can enjoy the full potential of this car.
Besides performance, the car also comes with a few visual changes such as a new sports exhaust system, vertical cooling flaps in the front and interior accents in Porsche’s very own special color called “Turbonite” which is exclusive to Turbo model variants and makes the interior look even more premium.
With new hybrid power and a few slight changes, there is no doubt the 2025 Turbo S is here to make a great impact on the supercar world.
