When you think of Japanese supercars you think of cars like the Toyota Supra and Nissan GTR which are legendary supercars. But there was a time when there was an even more special and unique Japanese supercar, one that is known for its design, speed and sound.
This car was the Lexus LFA. It was the only true supercar Lexus ever built and it was produced from 2010 to 2012. Only 500 LFAs were ever produced making it a limited edition supercar.
Now Lexus wanted to change their image as the luxury brand of Toyota and so that is why they decided to make the LFA supercar. When the LFA was made it seemed like it would become a success as it had everything going for it. It was very fast, well designed, good looking and was quite unique.
Yet despite all of that it never became a success sadly. One of the reasons was development costs of the LFA were extremely high resulting in an expensive price tag compared to other similar supercars.
But even if the Lexus LFA never became a successful supercar you will find there are plenty of fans of the LFA out there, in fact I would say it’s one of the most beloved supercars out there even though it’s been over 10 years since production ended.
One of the reasons why is because of the LFA’s amazing V10 engine sound which is currently my favorite supercar engine sound and is considered as one of the best supercar engine sounds ever. I can best describe the sound as similar to a fighter jet aircraft but smoother and more beautiful.
Then we cant forget the other great things about the LFA such as the amazing design that it has and the fact that it is a unique supercar compared to others which make the LFA even more special. I definitely feel the Lexus LFA deserved bigger success because it is a very special supercar.
