How I Sat In One Of The Most Powerful Lamborghinis

I like to write about cars that have some kind of personal significance for me and I felt the Lamborghini Huracan STO is one that qualifies.

Powered by a 640 hp naturally aspirated V10, The Lamborghini Huracan STO is the most powerful variant of the Huracan. The car is made to be more track oriented with performance and aerodynamic changes and also visual changes to the exterior of the car such as carbon fiber bits and a rear spoiler for example.

But what exactly is the significance of the Huracan STO considering there are just so many other great supercars with great performance like that? Chances are that if you have been following me, you know why. For those who don’t. Here’s the story.

The Lamborghini Huracan STO is actually a supercar I got to photograph very early in my car photography history, back when I got a chance to visit one of India’s best supercar collections in Bren Garage. Over there I saw a white and green Huracan STO, a simple spec but made a quick impression on me.

At the Auto Madness event In Dubai I managed to see at least 3 Huracan STOs there but the story doesn’t end there. Remember that I got to sit in a Lamborghini during my time there? Well, the Lamborghini I sat in that day was in fact a Huracan STO. Now here is how that happened.

So at the event there was a small section of cars that were brought by a rental and the main person who had access to the keys was allowing a number of people to sit in either one of the 3 cars he brought there, two Huracan EVO Spyders and a Huracan STO.

Before I knew it he let me sit in one of his cars and out of each of the cars he had, it happens to be the Huracan STO that I got to sit in (as you can see in the featured image). I couldn’t believe it. I was very fortunate too as only around 2 or 3 people after me got to sit in the cars before the rental person moved on.

I forgot to take a photo of the interiors unfortunately, but I remember it was actually kind of comfortable inside and that the headrests had supports on both sides of the neck, the reason being to keep the head and neck supported and able to withstand the forces you get on fast corners of a race track.

So yeah, that’s the story of how I ended up getting to sit in one of Lamborghini’s most powerful supercars by pure chance and insanely lucky timing. It was easily one of the best moments I had that day.
