After much wait Ferrari’s 812 Superfast successor has finally arrived so I decided to make this write up as soon as I could. The car is called the 12 Cilindri which in Italian simply means 12 cylinder. The 12 Cilindri’s name is based off the naturally aspirated V12 engine that powers the car and there is a pretty significant reason for the name, the 12 Cilindri is likely going to be the final Ferrari to be powered by their legendary V12. Like with most Ferraris there are both coupe and convertible versions.
The 12 Cilindri has 830 horsepower and a claimed top speed of over 330 kmph, around the same as the earlier Ferrari 812 Competizione which was the more powerful track edition of the earlier 812. It is also actually inspired by the historic Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona and you can see many elements of the Daytona but with modern styling on the car. Even though the 12 Cilindri is inspired by the Daytona, its modern styling makes it looks quite unique especially compared to the earlier 812. Even among Ferraris in general I feel this car looks unique enough to stand out.
To celebrate the legendary Ferrari V12 while it is still around I decided to create my very own spec of the 12 Cilindri. Now I notice the configurator itself has had some updates and changes since I last used it. Either way let’s see the spec I have done.
Unfortunately the configurator now has an all black background and it might be hard to see so I will mention the spec in detail.
For this spec I’ve gone with the standard Nero DS for the color, glossy painted wheel rims, silver brake calipers and have put several additional carbon fiber options for the exterior. The entire interior is colored in Carta Zucchero which is a light gray shade and when I say the entire interior, quite literally every possible selectable interior option is selected in this color. Sure this may not be the typical flashy red Ferrari spec but I like this combination, the wheels and silver calipers give a nice contrast to the black exterior.
With the 12 Cilindri likely to be the end of the legendary Ferrari V12 era, it’s a significant car that should be celebrated while we have it.
