Recently, Bentley did a full facelift of its Continental GT sports car and the GTC convertible version. Several exterior changes include new grills, new bumpers and most notably the reduction from two headlights to just one per side, with a LED strip slightly extending from the main circular headlight.
The new Continental GTC’s Speed variant focuses on performance. With a 771 hp “Ultra Performance” V8 hybrid engine and a top speed of 285 kmph, the GTC Speed definitely lives up to its name. Since it is a soft top, the roof is made of fabric and Bentley offers multiple color options for it. The roof can be opened or closed simply with the press of a button with the process taking around 19 seconds on average.
Being a Bentley, there is no shortage of luxurious features and technology inside the car. The combination of luxury, technology and performance makes the Continental GTC Speed a suitable car for those who prefer the comfort of a luxury car but want the full performance of a supercar. Additionally the car is all-wheel drive which makes it easier to handle and maneuver, perfect for cruising down the highways at high speed and when the conditions are just right, with the top down.
Now are a few other variants of the Continental GTC asides from the Speed and the base variants. Bentley have a more expensive Mulliner variant which basically offers even more customization options compared to the Speed and just recently they launched the Azure variant which is more catered to luxury than performance, with the Azure variant having a 671 hp “High Performance” Hybrid V8 instead of the 771 hp engine.
One more interesting thing. There are also a limited number of Continental GTCs that will be made with a “First Edition” specification which comes with its own set of exclusive features as well as First Edition badging visible on the right side of the car to make it easier to identify the cars that have this specification.
The Continental GT is currently Bentley’s longest running car when it comes to production and has been around for a few generations now. The new facelift shows that the Continental GT is very much still going strong as a capable all round grand tourer with a great balance of both luxury and performance and same thing with the GTC except with the GTC, you can do all of that with the roof down.
