Unlike fellow German manufacturers Audi’s performance line of cars actually comes in two levels, the S and RS series, with the RS being the most powerful of them. Audi has several models in the RS series like the RS3 which comes in both the sedan and sportback versions, the RS5, the RS6 Avant, the RSQ8 SUV and their most powerful sedan, the RS7 Sportback.

The RS7’s twin-turbo V8 engine can produce roughly around 600 horsepower and although the top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph in the base model, there are two optional “Dynamic” packages you can choose that can increase the RS7’s top speed to either 280 or 305 kmph. With the R8 and TT RS discontinued, the RS7 is one of the most powerful internal combustion cars offered by Audi.

The sportback style of the Audi RS7 makes it stand out with a unique look among performance sedans, which generally stick to the usual look you see on standard sedans. The RS7 also looks quite aggressive for an Audi with its sharp lines, front headlights and grill.

The other important thing about the RS7 is that it is also practical, unlike most high-performance cars. For example, two-door sports cars are generally not practical and even SUVs can have their disadvantages, so this practicality makes cars like the RS7 desirable among enthusiasts with families as well as older enthusiasts who don’t want to or are not able to manage the inconveniences of a low riding 2-door sports car but still want to enjoy a proper performance car.

The Audi RS7 might not be as crazy as rivals like the BMW M5, but it positions itself as a great balanced package being both a top-of-the-line performance sedan, but also a practical one, which can be driven in city traffic or for long distances on the highways, with the additional “Dynamic” package options allowing for more flexibility in top speed and the inclusion of technology and luxury features just being bonuses to an already solid performance car.
