There were two important things I needed to consider in my search for finding a car that suits the theme of the element of ice, a cool car and a cool color. There were several options that fit the requirements, but I found myself going more and more towards Porsche for a couple reasons.
Majority of Porsche cars represent pure performance and on top of it they happen to have a program called the Porsche Ice Experience, where you can experience driving Porsches in cold snowy environments. There is even a color Porsche offer for it’s all-electric Taycan sedan as well as its variants called Frozen Blue.
But I decided to continue looking just in case I could find something even more suitable and eventually I came across this car. This is a 2011 Porsche 997 Turbo S painted in Ice Blue Metallic. As the name suggests, it is an icy color with a combination of blue and silver in it, Ice Blue Metallic is also not as bright of a shade as Frozen Blue which to me makes it a much more suitable choice for this element.
And I must say this color suits the 997 Turbo S quite well. It’s a classic sort of color that no doubt would age well on a car like this. The Turbo S is known for not being track oriented or over the top, while still having solid power thanks to it’s twin-turbo engine that can be enjoyed in pretty much any scenario and this is something I feel makes the color even more of a match with this car. Pure and precise ice cold performance with incredible straight line speed, it doesn’t really get better than that.
One more interesting and important thing about the Ice Blue Metallic color is that it was only available for the 2011 model year of the Porsche 911 Turbo S and that too as a special order color, so besides just being a car that looks like what you would imagine an icy themed car to look like, it also makes this Turbo S an extremely rare example. No doubt a car worthy to be chosen to be represented in my series.
