A McLaren Elva by itself is pretty incredible, but this example goes one step further in standing out thanks to its special MSO Pacific Colorstream paint.

Out of the 149 units made of the Elva, this is the 122nd unit and the only one that has been made in this special shade. The beauty of the Pacific Colorstream shade lies in the fact that its basically multicolored and you see different colors depending on the lighting and the angle you look at. On a car like the Elva where you don’t have carbon bits and pieces all over, I think it looks even more stunning.

Whoever originally bought this Elva definitely wanted the paint to take all the attention since the interiors and wheel rims are fully black and that only helps bring more attention to the paint. Also, notice the matching purple on the brake calipers and seat accents.

Because of the effort and attention to detail required to make this paint job, it costs close to $38,000 and the process can take up to a year so as you can guess, there are only a handful of McLaren cars out there painted in this color. Asides from this Elva some of the other known examples include a P1, a 720S, a 765LT Spider and even the mysterious, exclusive Sabre (here is the interesting backstory to that car).

It is difficult to make an exact estimate of how many factory painted MSO Pacific Colorstream McLarens are there since wraps and custom paint jobs are very much a thing and there would certainly be a couple McLarens which would have done something like that. My guess however, would be that as of right now there are somewhere around 20 to 30 cars with this special shade in existence.

McLaren have done a lot of great stuff when it comes to their MSO program and this Elva is a great example to showcase the flexibility of customization that MSO can do, if an owner ever decides to have them involved for the customization of their McLaren.
