The Mercedes Maybach GLS has had a significant rise in recent times with many celebrities, CEOs and other wealthy people from all over the world deciding to go for the Maybach GLS as their luxury SUV of choice, though there are multiple other options in that segment. This is something I have even noticed in person having managed to see the Maybach GLS in three totally different locations within three different cities.
Although Merc’s Maybach division has long been established in the luxury car world, the GLS 600 was a car that was introduced only a couple years ago. The first-class level of comfort that Maybach is known for, the higher roof height allowing for more room and the great amount of technology and features in the car have made the GLS 600 a preferred choice for those who wanted a top level pure luxury Mercedes SUV, as their other popular SUV which is the G63 AMG is more catered towards performance and off roading.
The luxurious and attractive exterior of the Maybach GLS 600 stands out especially with the Maybach grill. What’s interesting is that even though it’s a pure luxury and not a more performance oriented SUV like the Lamborghini Urus for example, I’ve noticed a lot of owners have gone for bold or stand out specs (usually dual tone) for the GLS 600 and it’s not something usually seen on luxury SUVs which generally tend to stick with the standard and classy specs.
Maybach themselves have noticed the rise and success of the GLS 600 and have launched an all-electric version called the Maybach EQS 680 this year which basically looks like an EQ/Maybach hybrid that keeps distinct style features from either division with the functionality more or less remaining the same except for of course, the engine.
It’s clear the GLS 600 already has and will continue to play a significant role for Maybach as they continue to develop new cars for the luxury market. I’ve already seen first hand the rise of the GLS 600 and I wouldn’t be surprised when there comes a point where I see the Maybach GLS with just as much frequency as it’s sedan counterpart the Maybach S Class, or other luxury SUVs like the Range Rover.
