The Pagani Huayra Roadster is an extremely rare car to begin with as only 100 units were made. Which makes the fact that one got totaled a pretty big deal. The whole story behind how this particular Huayra Roadster got totaled makes it even more unfortunate.
So the car in question, is this Pagani Huayra Roadster known as “Joker”. The car’s spec was a full purple carbon fiber exterior, gold accents on the exterior as well as the wheel rims and finally a purple and yellow interior which made it one of the more unique Huayra Roadster specs out there.
Huayra Roadster “Joker” was delivered sometime in 2019 to the United States, where it became part of a collection with multiple other supercars and hypercars and would be seen around displayed at events.
On the evening of November 17th 2020 near Dallas, Texas, the Pagani Huayra Roadster “Joker” would be taken out for a drive by the owner’s teenage son. Hypercars like the Pagani Huayra Roadster are known to be difficult to handle and combine that with a driver with minimal experience and cool conditions and you can see how a crash becomes a possibility.
Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened as the driver felt the right rear tire of the car slip causing him to lose control of the car, hitting a curb before it struck a tree. Thankfully the driver and passenger survived with only minimal injuries, but the car had its front left smashed and had bits and pieces scattered all around.
Even though the rest of the car wasn’t affected too much, with the amount of damage taken on the front left side from the expensive carbon fiber exterior all the way down to the chassis, the car was considered as totaled. Also, considering the owner’s wealth it would have been easier to just get a new Pagani Huayra rather than put in the effort to restore the damaged one.
You can’t help but wonder that maybe had the owner’s son drove a different and maybe easier to handle car that day (considering they had many) or the owner didn’t allow his son to drive any of his hypercars, this Pagani Huayra Roadster would still be around today.
Either way, a very unfortunate ending for an epic hypercar.
