The 2008 Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe Is Luxurious In All Black

A Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe in all black

The Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe is basically a fancy name for a Phantom convertible, along with the Phantom Coupe it was the first of the modern 2-door Rolls Royce models. As you might guess, both models were based off the Phantom sedan. The Phantom Drophead is also the only 2-door convertible for now that was based off the Phantom platform, as the later Dawn would be based off the smaller Ghost platform.

As one of the most luxurious convertibles out there, the Phantom Drophead is the kind of car that you want to have looking as nice as possible which is why when I came across this stunning all black 2008 example listed for sale, it caught my attention right away.

This car has black exterior paint on the main body and the hood, the retractable soft top, as well as the entire leather interior. The only prominent parts that aren’t black here are the grill, the wheel rims and the rear deck area (which meets the roof) which is made out of teak wood.

Although Rolls Royce stealth specs are very much a thing (their Black Badge series is basically dedicated to that), you won’t be finding too many examples of this kind of spec on earlier models like with this one since the Black Badge series was not around that time and Rolls Royce cars involve a lot of individual customization, so the chances to come across a similar looking car would be quite low.

2008 is only the second model year of the Phantom Drophead and the fact this example is an earlier model and one that is in excellent condition, makes it even more desirable.

Rolls Royce describes the Phantom Drophead as a yacht on wheels and when you see the amount of luxury packed into it, you can understand why they call it that. Additionally, the 6.7 liter V12 engine brings out enough performance that you can enjoy the experience of cruising at a good speed with the top down.
