Tim Burton aka Shmee150 is no stranger to having Ferrari’s in different colors of which several are exclusive to Ferrari’s Tailor Made program. After all, he has a Ferrari SF90 Stradale in Blu Electrico, a Ferrari SF90 XX in Verde Kers and a Ferrari Purosangue in Blu Le Mans to name a few. However, out of all of Shmee150’s Ferraris, his 12Cilindri might be the most interesting and unusual when it comes to the spec.
Shmee’s Ferrari 12Cilindri comes in a shade called Oro Chiaro, a metallic golden shade which has been used by Ferrari on several of their past classics. While there are a handful of classic Ferraris that have this shade, modern Ferraris can have it as well thanks to Tailor Made. What makes this spec an interesting choice is that the Ferrari 12Cilindri is designed in such a way that the proportions come off as sharp and aggressive, while this shade of gold comes off as a very classic color that you’d find more on luxury cars and cars that don’t have aggressive characteristics unlike this one.
The 12Cilindri is already a pretty controversial car when it comes to looks especially thanks to the prominent black bits on the exterior and this is the kind of spec that you would either love or hate to see on it.
After taking delivery of his 12Cilindri, Shmee would send the car to Topaz Detailing for PPF protection and after taking it for a road trip around Europe, he would visit a place in Paris called Carrosserie Lecoq which kept a Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona in the same exact color (one of only 16 examples apparently) as the 12Cilindri. The Daytona is the primary inspiration of the 12Cilindri so seeing these two cars in the exact same rare color getting brought together, made for a significant occasion.
Tim Burton has gone with many bold spec choices for his Ferraris, but the historic yet controversial color choice of Oro Chiaro on his 12Cilindri is in my opinion, the most interesting of them all so far.
