Lamborghini Aventador SVJ – Made For The Track

Lamborghini has a long history of making great track focused supercars, with almost every model they make getting some kind of track variant. For the Aventador there were two, the SV and the more powerful SVJ.

Even before its launch in the summer of 2018, Lamborghini was already showing the world just how capable the Aventador SVJ would be on track when a prototype version of the SVJ smashed the Nurburgring Nordschleife lap record by setting a time of 6:44.97, beating the earlier record held by the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

With a 759 horsepower naturally aspirated V12 engine, the Aventador SVJ was at the time the most powerful production Lamborghini ever made. The overall design of the car is much more aggressive compared to a normal Aventador with sharper edges, carbon bits and a spoiler all of which help with the car’s aerodynamics. The car is also lighter, increasing its performance and speed on the track.

The Aventador SVJ has a roadster version as well that has basically the same performance statistics as the coupe, with the roadster having a removable carbon fiber hard top roof.

The SVJ is also quite a rare car as only 900 units were made for the coupe and 800 for the roadster. With the rarity of the car and more importantly the fact that it’s the last Lamborghini track car to have the pure 6.5 liter V12 engine, the SVJ has only become more cherished among both car enthusiasts and collectors since its successor, the Revuelto has a hybrid V12 engine and for it doesn’t feel the same as having a pure V12.

Since Lamborghini usually keep their cars in production for at least a decade, it’s going to be most likely a couple of years at least before we see the Revuelto get a track variant since production started only back in 2023.

If there is anything one needs to know about Lamborghini, it’s that they aren’t afraid to go all out when it comes to their cars. After all, every Lamborghini in some way or another are inspired by the spirit of the raging bull and when you look at the Aventador SVJ, you can clearly see that spirit when you see the aggressive design and styling of the car, along with the power and performance behind it. A proper representation of the raging bull symbol.
