I haven’t made an electric car post in forever and I thought it was the perfect chance for me to talk about an electric super SUV I very recently was able to see up close myself. The Audi Q8 E Tron Sportback that was only launched a couple months ago.
Audi have launched several electric cars recently and the Q8 E Tron is the electric version of the Q8 their largest SUV. The sportback being one of the two body styles of the Q8 E Tron, the other being the normal SUV style.
Now I’ve never been much of an Audi fan and have always considered myself more of a Mercedes and AMG guy. But you know what, out of the electric divisions from the 3 major German manufacturers I have been finding myself liking the Audi E Tron cars the most right now.
After having photographed at least 1 car from each of the three divisions now, I feel even more so. Most of the BMW I series cars look basically the same as their petrol versions and Mercedes EQ car designs somehow don’t appeal to me as much as the Audi E Tron designs.
The designs of Audi E tron cars look a lot more stylish and also sporty compared to the older Audis and I really like that. The Q8 E tron Sportback is a great example of the new design you see on newer Audis. The front looks quite aggressive, something you just couldn’t have imagined on earlier Audis except for the R8. The car is curvy as you would expect from a sportback and even the sides and rear of the car look stylish. I really liked the shade of blue that I saw on the car as well, it’s very refreshing to see Audis in a different variety of colors instead of just white and silver.
Electric supercars and luxury cars are still very expensive and as a result quite rare here in India so chances are you won’t be seeing many of these. However, that makes me glad that I did get to photograph the Audi Q8 E Tron Sportback.
