Thanks to Fast & Furious 7 you’ve probably heard of the exclusive W Motors Lykan Hypersport. However, a few years later they created the much more mysterious Fenyr Supersport and the whole story with this car is interesting to say the least.
I first came to know about the Fenyr Supersport from the video game Asphalt 9 where at the time it was one of the top cars of its class. The Fenyr visually looks very similar to the Lykan, only bigger and more menacing. What’s more interesting is what is underneath the car. Porsche tuner RUF supplied their 3.8 liter flat-six for the engine which is estimated to reach somewhere around 800-900hp.
Apparently, W Motors planned to make up to 25 units per year but later changed it to a total of 100 units and 10 “Launch Editions”. I’m not actually sure if there’s any major visual difference between a Launch Edition and a regular Fenyr or if it’s just badging for exclusivity.
What is known however is that the last 5 of these Launch Editions were bought in 2019 by a Japanese businessman for around $7 million (an amount that could get you at least 2 hypercars and a few extra supercars) in total. It doesn’t seem like any of these cars have been spotted unfortunately and they continue to remain hidden to this day.
The story with the Fenyr only seems to get stranger the deeper I go. Although W Motors are still actively posting on social media, they just seem to be showing off the same 2 or 3 examples of the Fenyr around Dubai (where the company is based).
I also couldn’t find any examples of the Fenyr being listed for sale or put up for auction which I find very strange. It makes me wonder how many examples were actually sold to customers as even an exclusive hypercar like this is bound to get listed for sale sooner or later.
There also haven’t been any recent sightings of the Fenyr anywhere outside of Dubai so either majority of these cars are currently being stored in private collections much like the one in Japan or there simply just aren’t many examples that were sold to customers.
With how little information there is on Fenyr in general and especially customer cars, it doesn’t look like we are going to be seeing them anywhere outside of the UAE and maybe Japan if any of the 5 hidden cars finally show up.
A final interesting note is that The Fenyr Supersport was inspired and named after a mythical wolf. Well, it certainly lives up to that with the amount of mystery that lies around it.
